Industry News

American College of Education (ACE) and Voyager Sopris Learning announced a partnership that will enable LETRS students to seamlessly transition into ACE graduate programs. LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) is Voyager Sopris Learning’s landmark professional learning course on the science of reading.

Upon completion of LETRS, students can apply up to 12 credits toward one of three graduate-level degree programs at ACE. Each two-unit set in the LETRS course can be counted toward one three-credit graduate level course at ACE. Students who complete a master’s degree at ACE may transfer LETRS coursework toward an ACE doctoral program.

“We are proud to partner with American College of Education to offer educators across the country college credit for completion of LETRS coursework,” said Donna Neel, Senior Vice President of Professional Development for Voyager Sopris Learning. “Granting the intensive time and effort invested in LETRS content and practicum toward credit in one of three degree programs at ACE will be appealing to educators everywhere. This partnership is an example of our shared mission of helping educators strengthen their skills to make a difference in student outcomes.”

Authored by renowned literacy experts Dr. Louisa Moats and Dr. Carol Tolman, LETRS bridges deep, meaningful research into practical classroom success, and provides educators with the background, depth of knowledge, and tools to teach language and literacy skills to every student. LETRS recently was selected as winner of the “Professional Development Learning Solution” award category in the prestigious Ed Tech Awards from EdTech Digest.
